The Mother City of Cape Town, South Africa
Welcome to Cape Town, the Mother City of SA and the Western Cape, an area regarded as one of the most beautiful regions in the world. The city is a rare cultural gem, resulting from the amalgamation of Indonesian, French, Dutch, British and German settlers, local indigenous Khoi and San Bushman, as well as the Bantu tribes of the north. The impressive presence of Table Mountain, flanked by Devil's Peak and Signal Hill, stands proudly above the city. Beautiful white sandy beaches frame the coastal Cape Peninsular, famed for its floral kingdom, bountiful rivers, 'vleis', dams and magnificent landscapes. The surrounding area extends far into the Winelands; green in summer and gold in autumn. Cape Town boasts a multitude of sites and entertainment, from Table Mountain, Robben Island, penguins at Boulders, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, the Winelands, paragliding, deep sea fishing, shark cage diving, hiking, kayaking, a roaring nightlife under neon signs and a plethora of fine dining.
