Depart early from your lodge and travel south to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most rewarding yet often overlooked wildlife reserves, for a full day of exploration.
On arrival, you’ll encounter the life-giving Tarangire River, bordered by acacia woodlands and majestic baobab trees, where wildlife gathers throughout the day. During the dry season, large numbers of animals migrate from the surrounding Maasai steppe in search of water, creating exceptional game-viewing opportunities within a relatively small area.
Tarangire is also known for hosting rare species such as the greater kudu, fringe-eared oryx, and the ashy starling, which are seldom seen elsewhere in Tanzania.
