Tanzania's third largest national park has the greatest concentration of wildlife in Tanzania and in the dry season the Tarangire River is a magnet for thirsty wildlife. Large herds of elephants and migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland gather and not surprisingly the predators follow. Ngorongoro Crater offers a spectacular animal life throughout the year due to the permanent availability of grass of water. Local wildlife includes the black manned lion, the highly endangered black rhino, wildebeest, zebra, elephant, hippo, hyena and many more. The bird life is also prolific with flocks of flamingos on the soda lake as well as other species of water birds. Olduvai Gorge Museum(Extras-optional for $36)
The museum exhibits the story of the anthropological artefacts that have been discovered and the research that has been generated in this area. Furthermore, the museum has dedicated a room to the Leakey Family and their achievements as well as to the famous Laetoli fossilized footprints. The museum staff will guide you through the museum. Afternoon game drive. Overnight at Serengeti katikati.
