Durban to Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve

After arrival, a transfer will wait for you to take to Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve. The park is about a 3 hours drive from the airport. You will be staying at the only privately owned lodge in the park, Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge. Depending on your arrival time, you will still be able to join your first afternoon shared game drive in the park.

Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve

The morning game drive starts at sunrise. You will be woken up before sunrise for tea and coffee before the game drive starts. You will be out and about for ~3 hours, looking for wildlife together with your guide, before they all find trees to hide under in the heat of the day.

When the game drive returns to the lodge, you will be served a big cooked breakfast and have time to relax. You can sit by the pool, read a book, take a nap and just absorb being out in the bush.

The afternoon game drive will start around 16:00, after lunch/high tea. It will last for another ~3 hours, with a stop somewhere for sundowners. You will return to the lodge in the dark, with a spotlight to look for nocturnal animals.

Hluhluwe-iMfolozi to Durban

Depending on when your flight departs from Durban Airport, go on a last shared game walk or game drive. After breakfast, you will then be taken back to the airport to board your flight back home, or to continue your travels in Africa. We will be happy to assist with any further arrangements required.
