Day 1

You will be picked up in the early morning and begin your drive to Lake Nakuru National Park with a stopover at the Great Rift Valley, an intra-continental ridge system that runs through Kenya from north to south. This eastern branch of the East African Rift starts in Tanzania to the south and continues northward into Ethiopia. This valley forms the "Kenyan Dome", a geographical upwelling created by the interactions of three major tectonics: the Arabian, Nubian, and Somalian plates.
You will arrive at the Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge in time for lunch and then head out for your first game drive in the park to view impala, warthog, gazelle, waterbuck, black and white rhino, giraffe and a variety of bird species. Later in the evening, you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2

After breakfast, you will check out and take off for an exciting boat ride on Lake Naivasha. The lake lies at the highest elevation in the Kenyan Rift Valley, a complex geological combination of volcanic rocks and sedimentary deposits from a larger Pleistocene-era lake. Apart from transient streams, the lake is fed by the perennial Malewa and Gilgil Rivers. The lake water is relatively fresh and home to a variety of wildlife, including birds and a sizeable population of hippos.
In the late afternoon, you will drive to the Sopa Resort, where you will check in, have lunch and then settle in. Dinner and your overnight stay are at the resort.

Day 3

After breakfast, you will check out and drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch. The Masai Mara is globally famous for its exceptional population of lion, leopard and cheetah. The park is also known for the migration of zebra and wildebeest to and from the Serengeti every year from July to October, known as the great migration. You will arrive at the Mara Sopa Lodge in the late afternoon, where you will check in, have lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive and then return for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 4

After breakfast, your day will be spent exploring the reserve with an early morning and late afternoon game drive. You also have the option to choose a full-day game drive to the Mara River. The Masai Mara National Reserve is the northernmost section of the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem, covering a large portion of Tanzania and Kenya. It is bounded by the Serengeti Park to the south, the Siria Escarpment to the west, and Maasai pastoral ranches to the north, east and west. The Sand, Talek, and Mara Rivers are the major rivers that drain into the reserve. Shrubs and trees fringe most drainage lines and cover hill slopes and hilltops. The Masai Mara is home to over 450 different species of animals, and wherever you drive, you are sure to see a variety of wildlife. Dinner and overnight stay are at the lodge.

Day 5

On this day, you will have breakfast, then check out of the lodge and depart for Nairobi, taking in the breathtaking views of the Great Rift Valley. You will be dropped off at your Nairobi hotel or at the airport for your flight back home.
As well as the wildlife, the park is home to the community of Maasai warriors. Their bravery is known the world over in their battles with the animals of the savannah, and they welcome you into their culture with traditional song and dance. You have a chance to witness their culture and visit a home to better understand their extraordinary way of life. This visit is optional, and there is an extra fee of US$30 applicable.
Optional activities on this day include a half-day city tour, a cultural experience at the Bomas of Kenya, and dinner at The Carnivore Restaurant for exotic meals (to be paid directly).
