3-Day Sossusvlei Experience (Lodging)

Windhoek to Sossusvlei

We will pick you up from your hotel or guest house between 7.30 am and 8.30 am and depart at 9 am straight on the way south to the world-famous Sossusvlei via picturesque Spreetshoogte Pass. We will then have a Stop-over at the viewpoint to appreciate the endless view of the Namib. Our lunch will be at the Solitaire oasis. We will arrive at the lodge or campsite around 3-4 pm. This time is extremely hot, we recommend that you spend the day cooling off by the pool. Early rest will be necessary as tomorrow you are expected to wake early in the morning.

Sossusvlei, Dead Vlei, Dune 45 and Big Daddy dune

Early in the morning, at sunrise, we will visit the Sesriem Gate to the remarkable Sossusvlei. We start off with climbing picturesque Dune 45, experiencing the beauty and vastness of the orange-colored landscape. Off-road drive to the Dead Vlei, a place of the vast desert pan where dried-up, ancient acacias stand silent in the impressive, open-air gallery. If you have enough energy, you can climb one of the highest dunes on Earth, the Big Daddy or Big Mama. After the morning excursion, we will return back to Sesriem for lunch. We will take a break for 1-2 hours. Once the heat subsides, we will take a short excursion to Sesriem Canyon. This will be our last activity for the day.

Return to Windhoek

Soon after breakfast, we will depart to Windhoek through the beautiful Spreetshoogte Pass. On our way, we will stop over at Solitaire. We will approximately arrive at our destination in the afternoon. We will drop you off at the hotel/lodge of your choice Farewell, goodbye.
