Kigali to Volcano National Park

You'll arrive on your flight at Kigali International Airport. You'll meet and greet assistance. You will then be warmly welcomed by our Golden Rwanda Safaris representative outside the customs and immigration hall. A tour briefing will follow, and an introduction to your driver-guide. You will be transferred to New Cactus Restaurant for lunch. You will then embark on a scenic drive to Musanze. Then, you'll have dinner and an overnight stay at Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel.

Volcanoes National Park

You'll have an early breakfast at the lodge, then proceed to the park headquarters in time for the gorilla trekking briefing at 07:00 am. We will then transfer you to the start point of your guided walk that begins at 8:00 am. Here, your amazing adventure begins.

Volcanoes National Park protects the steep slopes of this magnificent mountain range and is the home of the rare mountain gorilla and the rich mosaic of montane ecosystems, which embrace evergreen and bamboo forest, open grassland, swamp and heath, but the high point will be spending an hour with the remarkably peaceful gorillas despite their size and appearance as they go about their daily life, feeding, playing, resting and raising their young.

After this memorable experience, you will return to the lodge for lunch and much-needed rest. In the afternoon at 3:30 pm, you will visit the Ibyi Iwacu village for a cultural experience.

Musanze Kigali

You'll have breakfast at the lodge and check out. 9:00 am: You will have a leisurely drive back to Kigali. You'll arrive at around 12:00 pm and have lunch at the Select Boutique Restaurant. At 2:30 pm, you'll visit the Kigali (Gisozi) Genocide Memorial site, followed by Inema arts gallery, and, if time permits, a local market. The Kigali Memorial exists as a permanent memorial to those who fell victim to the genocide in 1994. It deals with a topic of international importance, with far-reaching significance, and is designed to engage and challenge an international visitor base. Here, you will be able to visit the three permanent exhibitions, the largest of which documents the genocide, and pay tribute to the victims of the genocide. You will then be transferred to The Kigali Marriott in the evening for check-in, dinner, and an overnight stay.
