Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

You'll be picked up from the airport, ferry or hotel and drive to Mikumi National Park which is approximately 5 hours drive. You will have a short stop in Morogoro for a hot lunch. After lunch, proceed to Mikumi National Park for an afternoon game drive. Enjoy a late afternoon game drive with a sunset view at the hippo pool and see the animals coming to drink.

Mikumi to Udzungwa Mountain National Park

After breakfast, start driving to Udzungwa Mountain National Park. You will drive through the wide field of sugarcane plantation. This will take about one hour and a half from Mikumi.

Arrive for mountain trekking in this beautiful park enjoying and experiencing the stunning natural beauty of the park. Have a picnic lunch in the bush then proceed to explore the area. You will get access to the wonderful Sanje waterfall stunning 170m. You will see different species of monkeys including the endemic species of red Colobus monkey and the beautiful scenery of Kilombero Valley. You will get the chance to swim in one of the waterfall plunge pools. After trekking, you will drive back to Mikumi Bastian Camp and enjoy your afternoon in the swimming pool.

Full-Day Game Drive in Mikumi National Park

Wake up for early breakfast in the camp. After breakfast, you will go for full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park with an option of parked lunch boxes or a hot lunch in one of the lodges inside the park. After a long day game drive, late in the afternoon you will drive back to the camp and relax in the swimming pool.

Animals commonly found in this park include lion, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra and elephants and many more. Wild dogs can come and go in this park. The open horizons and abundant wildlife of the Mkata Floodplain. Over 300 species of birds have been observed in this park.

Visit Maasai Boma then Drive Back to Dar es Salaam

Wake up for breakfast in the camp and later drive to the Maasai tribe. Today, you will get the chance to visit a Maasai Boma to see how they live and get the history of their tribe. After visiting the Maasai Boma, you will start driving back to Dar es Salaam with a short stop for a hot lunch in Morogoro town. On arrival at Dar es Salaam, you will be dropped off at your hotel or airport.
