Ndutu
You will have one full day to explore this beautiful part of the Serengeti where you can witness the Great Migration between December and March.
Your route follows the migration of the animals on the plains. In February the gnus produce 8000 calves a day for three months. The large herds specifically choose the southern parts of the Serengeti because of the highly nutritious grass. This allows the mothers to produce healthy milk for their newborns. Predatory leopards, hyenas, cheetahs, jackals, and lions eat their fill, but the majority survive. Acacia woodlands provide homes for hundreds of birds, monkeys, and small mammals. Here and all around southern Serengeti, you will also find buffalos, hartebeests, impalas, and gazelles.
Together with your guide, you can decide whether you do a game drive at sunrise or enjoy a relaxing morning at the campsite, have a picnic lunch in the wilderness, or have a hot lunch at the camp. It's all your choice!
