Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

You will be picked up from the airport or your hotel and depart Nairobi for the Masai Mara National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a wildlife drive across the reserve.

The Masai Mara is renowned as the land of the Big Five—lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and rhino. Later in the evening, return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, enjoy both a morning and an afternoon wildlife drive in the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, renowned for the spectacular annual great migration. This natural event includes vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, topi and gazelle, followed closely by carnivore species in search of prey.

Both drives offer excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. You will see large herds of grazing animals and may also encounter some of the big cats for which the reserve is famous.

An optional cultural visit to a local Maasai village is available at an additional cost. Here you will learn about the Maasai way of life and how they have preserved their semi-nomadic traditions in the face of modern influences. The Masai Mara is also home to the highest population of lions in the world.

In the evening, return to Elangata Olerai Tented Camp for dinner and your overnight stay.
