Crossing migration game drive - North Serengeti

Leave early in the morning with a breakfast and picnic lunch and start to explore this beautiful area. It is very unique and can't be compared to any other area in Serengeti. Your game drive will concentrate along the Mara River by counting the crossing points that animals use to cross on their way to Masai Mara National Reserve and coming back to Serengeti National Park. According to the time and season you will visit, you may find them here.

The Northern Serengeti is the only place where animals cross the Mara River more than once a month. This is because of the long rainy season in the Serengeti. Here, you will have the best view. Along the Mara River, you will also enjoy the sights of Nile crocodiles and hippos!

You can expect to see some cats and grazing animals like eland, Grant's gazelle, Thomson's gazelle, and buffalo. The carnivores include hyena and sometimes cheetah.

As not all the animals are migrating, you may find some zebras and a few single or small groups of wildebeests who are left behind. They join the resident animals who are grazing along the springs like Klein's Gate which provides fresh water for drinking and fresh grass for grazing. You will continue with the game drive and arrive at your camp before dark for dinner and overnight.

The crater is a self-sustaining area with its own weather and its own vegetation with many different species of animals. It is the only place where you may encounter the black rhinoceros which are an endangered species. By visiting this area, you are counted among the special persons as you will find no place like this anywhere else in the world.
