Day 1

After breakfast from your hotel in Nairobi, we will pick you up and leave for Masai Mara through the Great African Rift Valley escarpment where you will have a stop at the viewing point to view the escarpment. Then you will drive through Masai Town Narok. You will arrive at Mara Camp in time for lunch. After lunch, you will have a late afternoon game drive until sunset.

Day 2

You will have an early morning breakfast and then depart at 7:30 am for a full day with packed lunch. Then, you will proceed for the game drive in search of its popular animals like the well-known Big Five e.g. elephant, leopard, rhino, buffalo, and lion, and predators like cheetahs, hyenas, and wild dogs. You'll also see their opponents like the zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, hippo, and dangerous crocodiles with a visit to Mara River where you will have your lunch at the migration point. You will experience the wildebeest migrating from Serengeti to Masai Mara and you will see migration taking place ( July - September). After lunch, you will continue with the game drive until sunset then you will drive back to the camp.

Day 3

You will have an early morning game drive up to 9:30 am in such of animal hunting after which you will come back for a full breakfast. You will have time to visit Masai Village and then depart for Lake Naivasha with lunch at Narok. After lunch, you will drive to Lake Naivasha arriving late in the afternoon for a boat trip where you will be able to see many species of birds and water animals such as hippos, and have good pictures of them.

Day 4

You will have an early morning game drive to Hell’s Gate National Park. This is the only park where one can cycle, walk, and drive while seeing animals. After the game drive, you will go back for breakfast and leave for Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for lunch with a game drive en route to find leopards which are frequently sighted in Lake Nakuru Park. After lunch, you will leave for a day game drive, and take a further drive to seek out the 2 species of rhinos found in the park. Lake Nakuru is known for many species of birds and thousands of flamingos.

Day 5

Lake Nakuru - Nairobi - Addis Ababa

After breakfast, you will check out the hotel and then spend the day game viewing at Lake Nakuru National Park, where you will have a chance to visit a unique sanctuary catering to a sizeable number of the endangered rhinoceros and the Rothschild giraffe. Waterbucks as well as predators such as lions and leopards are common at the park. Also to be seen is a myriad different variety of bird life in and around the lake. Flamingos are also plenty at the lake. On this day you will have your lunch at the cliff where you will have a good view of the whole park. Thereafter, you will leave for Nairobi in the afternoon with a drop-off at the airport for your 6:55 p.m. flight to Addis Ababa.

Day 6

Addis Ababa - Mekelle - Danakil Depression

After breakfast, you will be picked up and transferred to the airport for your morning flight to Mekele. After arrival, you will depart from Mekele to the Danakil for 3 days. You will drive from Mekelle to – Dodom. You will start an early drive to Dodom (at the base of Erta Ale). Camels transport all the camping materials and some food (sleeping materials like light mattresses and mats and water) to the rim of the volcano, where you will spend the night watching the dramatic action of the boiling lava. ErtaAle ranks as one of the most alluring and physically challenging natural attractions anywhere in Ethiopia. It is a shield volcano with a base diameter of 30 km and a 1km square caldera at its summit. ErtaAle contains the world’s only permanent lava lake. ErtaAle is 613 meters, with a lava lake, one of only five in the world, at the summit. It is notable for being the longest existing lava lake, present since the early years of the twentieth century.

Day 7

You will wake up early ErtaAle -Dodom. You will go back to Dodom and reach the camp at 8.00 am. After breakfast, it is time to relax. Then, you will drive to Hamad Ela 100km with a picnic lunch on the way under the shed of palm trees. You will reach Hamad Ela at 4:30 pm, a better village with a total population of about 500 people. You will see lots of camel caravans and you will experience the sunset from the very shallow salt Lake Assale.
Your dinner and overnight camping will be at Hamad Ela Camp.

Day 8

Hamad Ela – Dallol - Mekele

Hamad Ela – Dallol - Mekele

You will have a morning tour drive to Ragad (Asebo). This is the place where the localities are mining salt. At 1,200 km2 (460 sq mi) the Afar Depression is covered by salt. You will look at the activity of breaking the salt from the ground with local people cutting it into rectangular pieces and loading it on camels. You will drive ahead to Dallol and visit the different landscapes formed by volcanic activity. You will see Dallol + Lake Assale + Salt Canon, camel caravans, and follow-up camel caravans. You will drive back to Hamad Ela for lunch and proceed to Gheralta.

You will drive and Trek to Abune Yemata. Abune Yemata is a 4 km drive from Megab and a further 30 minutes walk will bring you to the foot of the perpendicular rock mountains of Guh. The scenery is breathtaking and the mountains resemble pillars reaching to the sky. The challenging and the only way to the church is footholds and handgrips in the rock face. Just before the entrance to the church, there is a narrow ledge carved into the cliff from which one can view a sheer drop of approximately 250m to 300m. In the afternoon, you will visit Mariam Korkoer and Daniel Koror churches and drive to Mekele for an overnight stay.

Day 10

In the morning after breakfast, you will fly to Lalibela at 10:00 a.m. Before the flight, you will visit Axum for 2 hours to see the obelisks, then fly to Labella. After arrival, you will start your tour of the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, visiting the northwestern cluster of churches - Bet Medhane Alem, Bet Maryam, Bet Meskel, Bet Danaghel, Bet Mikael, and Bet Golgotha (entry not permitted for women). After lunch, you will continue with the southeastern cluster of churches – Bet Gabriel-Rufael, Bet Merkorios, Bet Amanual, and Bet Abba Libanos. Finally, you will visit the most famous of all the churches – Bet Giyorgis, constructed in honor of the patron saint of Ethiopia – Saint George.

After briefly settling in your hotel, you will explore the sites of Gondar, including a visit to the Royal Enclosure, with six castles and several other buildings. Additionally, you will visit Fasilidas’s Pool, still used for Timket celebrations today, Ras Gimb Palace Museum, and the Debre Birhan Selassie church, with the most famous ceiling in Ethiopia.

Day 12

After the morning breakfast, you will drive to the Simien National Parks spending one day in the Simien Mountains allows you to witness amazing views of the landscape, and potentially the opportunity to view the endemic Geleada Baboons or the "bleeding heart baboon." From Gondar, you will take a drive into Debark, pay park entry fees, and head straight into the park.
The car will drop you off in Sankaber where you will take an easy kike to see Geech Abyss. Here you will find a spectacular waterfall, Jinbar Waterfall. After lunch, you will drive back to Gondar.
Your dinner and overnight stay will be in the Goha hotel.

Day 13

After breakfast, you will drive Gondar to Baheradr which is around a 2 hours drive. After arrival, you will take a boat trip on Lake Tana to visit a selection of monasteries hidden on the islands and shores of this sacred lake. You will visit the Zege Peninsula, the monasteries of Azuwa Maryam and Ura Kidane Mehret, and the island monastery of Debre Maryam near the outlet of the Blue Nile River. In the afternoon, you will drive out to the Blue Nile Falls for a short hike in the area. You will finish the day with a sunset over the lake.
