3-Day Mikumi National Park from Dar Es Salaam

Transfer to Mikumi (Game Drive)

You will be picked up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam at 05:00 AM (or airport based on flight schedule) and begin the drive to Mikumi National Park. The journey takes you through beautiful countryside and local villages, offering a glimpse of daily life in rural Tanzania. Upon arrival in Mikumi in the afternoon, you will check in and have some time to relax before heading out for an evening game drive.

During this safari, you may spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeest, and a variety of antelopes as the animals become more active in the cooler hours. After the game drive, you will return to your lodge or camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Mikumi (Game Drive)

After an early breakfast from the Camp, you will depart for a full-day game drive inside Mikumi National Park. With a packed lunch, you will explore different areas of the park, including the wide Mkata Floodplain, which is rich in wildlife. This day offers excellent chances to see lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species.

Your guide will share insights about animal behavior and the park’s ecosystem throughout the day. In the late afternoon, you will return to your accommodation to relax, enjoy dinner, and spend the night surrounded by nature.

Maasai Visit - Transfer back

After breakfast, you will visit a nearby Maasai community for a cultural experience. During this visit, you will learn about the Maasai way of life, traditions, customs, and their close relationship with nature and livestock. You will have time to interact, take photos, and ask questions before continuing your journey.

After the visit, you will begin the drive back to Dar es Salaam, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening, marking the end of your safari experience.
