3-Day Mikumi National Park Safari by Train

Dar- Mikumi Game Drive

Your journey begins very early in the morning with a 04:30 pick-up from your hotel or airport on arrival, followed by a transfer to the train station. At 06:00, you will board the train to Morogoro, enjoying peaceful countryside views along the way.

On arrival, your safari guide will be waiting to welcome you and drive you to Mikumi National Park, a journey of about two hours. Once inside the park, your safari experience starts immediately with a game drive through the wide savannah plains. You will have the chance to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and possibly lions resting in the shade.

Mikumi Guided Game Drive

After breakfast, you will set off on a morning game drive, the best time to witness animals as they become active after the night. Your guide will take you to different areas of the park, increasing your chances of seeing a wide variety of wildlife, including predators and large herds grazing on the open plains.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park, surrounded by nature. In the afternoon, the safari continues with another extended game drive, offering more opportunities for photography and wildlife encounters. As the day comes to an end, you will return to your Camp for a relaxed evening, dinner, and overnight stay.

Mikumi Game drive - Dar

After breakfast, you will enjoy one final morning game drive, making the most of your last hours in the park. This is a great time to spot animals you may have missed and to enjoy the calm atmosphere of the bush. Later in the afternoon, you will drive back to Morogoro, where you will board the 16:45 train returning to Dar es Salaam. You will arrive in the evening, bringing your safari adventure to a memorable close, drop off will be at the hotel, ferry or airport based on your further schedules!
