Many mammals, including bushbucks, waterbucks, wildebeests, zebras, baboons, monkeys, lions, and leopards, can also be seen roaming the forest and the acacia-dotted plains of the park. Karatu - Serengeti National Park

After breakfast you will leave Karatu and drive through the cooler highland region towards Serengeti National Park. The world-renowned Serengeti, with its diverse landscape ranging from grassy plains and dry savannah to marshy woodlands, is the stomping ground of many carnivorous predators and their prey. It is home to the largest animal migration in the world and, depending on the season, you will be able to witness this spectacular event unfold. Herds of wildebeest and zebra journey in the short rainy season of November and December from the hills in the north to the southern plains. They will return to the north during the longer rainy season of April to June. The migrating herds’ location is dependent on the yearly rainfall, but your guide will know where to go.

Other predators such as leopards and cheetahs can also be found here. After your game drive you will return to the camp and enjoy a hearty breakfast before leaving the park and driving towards Ngorongoro. Upon arriving at the crater, you will marvel as the 600m deep caldera in all its splendor opens up before you.
