Welcome to Tanzania! After landing at Kilimanjaro Airport near Arusha, a Tansafari Tours representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you can choose whether to have a short safari briefing with your guide the same day or the next morning. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure. Relax at the hotel and prepare for all the exciting adventures that await you the following day!

Day 2

Drive to Beautiful Tarangire National Park

Drive to Beautiful Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your driver-guide will meet you at your accommodation, and together you’ll set off for Tarangire National Park with packed lunches, ready for your first game drive of this Tanzanian safari. In this beautiful park, you may spot lesser kudu, eland, gerenuk, and lion, along with its famous large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees, some over 1,000 years old. In the late afternoon or early evening, you’ll continue to your lodge in Karatu for the night.

Day 3

Karatu to Serengeti National Park

Today you’ll be heading to the world-famous Serengeti. After breakfast, you’ll drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you’ll visit an authentic Maasai village to learn about their culture and way of life.

Following a lunch break, you’ll continue to Naabi Hill Gate, the main entrance to the Serengeti National Park. While your guide handles the park formalities, you can take a short walk to the viewpoint to enjoy the surrounding scenery. Once inside the park, you’ll go on a game drive on your way to the lodge, where you’ll have dinner and spend the night.

Spend a Whole Game Drive in Serengeti

Today you will spend the entire day game viewing in the Serengeti. The Serengeti is renowned for its annual migration, when around 1.5 million wildebeest move across the Serengeti and Maasai Mara ecosystems, accompanied by hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles—and their predators—totaling over two million migrating animals. The Serengeti arguably offers the most remarkable wildlife viewing in Africa. Your guide will do their best to ensure you have the best experience possible for the time of year you are visiting.

In the early evening, you’ll drive back to your accommodation, where you can enjoy a sundowner and reflect on the day’s adventures while listening to the sounds of the bush around you.

Day 5

Make Your Way to the Ngorongoro Area

Make Your Way to the Ngorongoro Area

Enjoy an early breakfast before you begin your drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the highlights of your safari. Formed by the collapse of a volcano over two million years ago, the Ngorongoro Crater is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife, including the Big Five.

You’ll descend more than 600 meters (about 2,000 feet) to the crater floor, where you’ll explore forest areas with monkeys and elephants, the lake area with flamingos, and the open savanna where lions hunt. You will also see the elusive black rhino.

Lunch will be served near the hippo pool, after which you’ll continue game viewing until late afternoon. Then you’ll head to your lodge in Karatu for your final night on the safari circuit.

Bye Bye, Tanzania

Today, you will drive from Karatu back to Arusha. The drive takes about three hours. Along the way, you can enjoy the impressive landscapes or observe the lively scenes in the small roadside villages.

After an eventful and relaxing holiday in Tanzania, it is unfortunately time to say goodbye. You will be transferred to the airport to begin your journey home.
