Day 1

Pick Up in Entebbe and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Pick Up in Entebbe and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

A Bamboo Ecotours representative will pick you up in Entebbe town or downtown Kampala and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive will take about 8-9 hours going through western Uganda's significant towns of Masaka, Mbarara, and Kabale. There are two scheduled stopovers along the way. The first one is at the Equator crossing near Masaka for a coffee break and handicraft shopping. The second stop will be in Mbarara City for lunch. After the short stopover in Mbarara City, you will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 2

You will head to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park gate immediately after breakfast to get a briefing about the gorilla trek. The national park guide will cover what to expect during the gorilla trek. The national guide will assign the gorilla trekking group during the pre-trekking briefing. Other visitors will likely join you. The gorilla trek can take many hours depending on how far the gorillas are inside the forest. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Karungi Camp.

Day 3

This trip will take you to trek the golden monkeys, an endemic species of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in southwestern Uganda. You will enter the forest and walk through the bamboo vegetation and various indigenous plants like giant lobelia. Your national park guide will tell you about the national park's history and the fauna and flora that the park holds during the trip. The golden monkey trek should take about 5 hours. After golden monkey trekking, we will drive to Lake Bunyonyi for dinner and overnight. The drive to Lake Bunyonyi will take about 3hrs.

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for Kazinga Channel Boat Trip

You will start the day with an early morning breakfast at Lake Bunyonyi. Then drive to northern Queen Elizabeth Park. on arrival at Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will join the Kazinga Channel boat cruise for an afternoon of wild game viewing. You will spot crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and a wide range of bird species on the channel waters. After the boat cruise, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

The day will start with game drives in the Kasenyi Plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park to spot various species of wild animals. Kasenyi Plains is in the vast savannahs of the Albertine Rift in Queen Elizabeth National Park. It will be a morning full of adventure! You can expect to encounter lions, herds of buffalos, elephants, Uganda kobs, topis, and bushbucks. While spotting the Big Five in the park is not guaranteed, on a lucky day, you may site leopards. After the game drive, drive for 3hrs to Kibale National Park for dinner and overnight.

Chimp Habituation Experience at Kibale and Bigodi Community Tour

You will head to the Kibale Forest immediately after breakfast to experience the habituation of the chimpanzees. If you are lucky on the trek, you might encounter other species of monkeys. These include colobus monkeys, olive baboons, and red-tailed monkeys. The chimpanzee habituation experience allows visitors to join a group of Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers and researchers training chimpanzees to get familiar with humans. The habituation experience at Kibale Forest National Park for visitors takes the whole day with a short break for lunch. The process of altogether getting a group of chimpanzees habituated for tourism takes at least two years. After the chimp habituation trek, you will return to the lodge. After breakfast, you will drive to Kibale National Park via the famous Fort Portal Crater Lakes drive. You may visit the Bigodi Village for a community tour in the afternoon.
