Kilimanjaro Airport - Mkomazi National Park

On arrival at Kilimanjaro airport, our driver-guide will meet you and drive you to Mkomazi National Park. The drive from Kilimanjaro to Mkomazi is approx 5 hours. Should you arrive early in the morning, you will arrive at the park for lunch and proceed on the afternoon game drive. If you arrive in the afternoon, you will arrive in time for dinner and your overnight stay.

Mkomazi National Park is very unique. It is among the few protected areas in Tanzania with a large and visible population of gerenuk and a massive concentration of the Beisa oryx.

Exploring the Park

You will go on an early morning game drive and return for breakfast. Mkomazi National Park has a rhino viewing project which can be visited, together with a game drive. Here clients will have a chance to see the black rhinoceros.

This park has one of the richest savannahs in Africa, possibly in the world, in terms of the number of rare and endemic fauna and flora evidenced by the presence of wild dogs and black rhinos. The park is rich in animals from elephants, wild dogs and giraffes, just to mention a few. Return to your accommodation for dinner and your overnight stay.

Mkomazi NP - Kilimanjaro Airport

After breakfast, you will do an en-route game drive for a few hours before heading back to Kilimanjaro airport. This will mark the end of the tour. Should you proceed to Zanzibar, we will advise by the time of your booking/request to be notified about this, so we stay alert with the time traveled from Mkomazi National Park to the airport.

Our driver will drop you off at the airport or hotel.
