After breakfast at the lodge, we depart for a tour of the Ngorongoro Crater. In the afternoon, we will leave for the Seronera area in Serengeti National Park.

The jewel in Ngorongoro's crown is a deep, volcanic crater, the world's largest unflooded and unbroken caldera. About 20km across, 600m deep, and covering an area of 300 sq km, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of hippos, flamingos, and other waterbirds can usually be seen here.

Serengeti National Park is well known for its healthy stock of resident wildlife, particularly the Big Five, named after the five most prized trophies taken by hunters (lion, buffalo, cheetah, elephant, and rhino).
