Day 1

Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

Pick up at the hotel in Nairobi where we’ll take you on a drive through typical African savannah. You’ll pass local homesteads and catch glimpses of Maasai herdsmen grazing their cattle. You’ll arrive at Amboseli National Park in time for lunch.
After you’ve had time to rest, we’ll take you into the park for your first African safari experience. On your game viewing drive, we’ll be on the lookout for the stars of the Masai Mara elephants, lions, giraffes, cheetahs, zebras, wildebeests, and a whole lot more.
The backdrop to your Kenyan adventure is Mount Kilimanjaro; its snow-capped peak dominates the skyline as Africa’s highest mountain. Marvel at the natural beauty of the awe-inspiring plains, home to a massively diverse ecosystem of animals. Following your first adventure into the Kenyan wilds, you’ll head back to your camp for dinner and a good night’s rest.

We will have an early morning game drive for a couple of hours before returning to the lodge for breakfast. Thereafter we proceed to Tsavo West National park with game viewing en-route to the lodge where your lunch and accommodation awaits.
We will pass and visit Shetani lava — a vibrant volcanic arena. The molten lava that forms Shetani lava spewed from the earth about 200 years ago and its fiery fury was thought by locals to be the work of the Devil. Mzima is one of Tsavo's most popular wildlife attractions owing to its resident populations of hippos and Nile crocodiles. Two kilometers downstream from the springs, the stream is blocked by a solidified lava flow and disappears below the surface again. In the afternoon, we will have another game drive, which includes a visit to the rhino sanctuary.
