Mkomazi National Park

After breakfast, our guide will meet you and give a short briefing before heading towards Mkomazi National Park for a game drive. Mkomazi National Park has breathtaking beauty exhibiting unique natural treasures and an immense sense of space, adding to meeting our visitors' expectations. Mkomazi National Park is the bridge between the northern circuit and the coastal attractions of the region. It is a fantastic destination for birdwatchers, with more than 450 avian species recorded. Among them are the dry country endemics such as the cobalt-chested vulturine guineafowl, other large ground birds such as ostrich, kori bustard, secretary bird, ground hornbill, and some migratory species including the European roller. The park is also a vital refuge for two highly endangered species, the charismatic black rhino, and the sociable African wild dog. We then have a picnic lunch before continuing the game until late afternoon. Finally, we will drive to our accommodation for our overnight stay.

Materuni Waterfalls and Cultural Tour in the Materuni Village

Commence your tour with a panoramic view of the lush slopes in and around Materuni village. This beautiful village is home to Chagga ethnic groups, famous for producing aromatic, rich coffee. Come and prepare your own cup of coffee by learning the secret to the perfect cup of coffee! Next, we will visit a coffee farm and hear all about how coffee is grown, harvested, and processed. After a delightful coffee break, you will take a beautiful 45-minute hike through the hills and valleys en route to the Materuni Waterfalls. As you hike, you will pass through banana and coffee plantations, up and down mini-valleys, across ridges, and through narrow splashing rivulets. A guide will escort you and tell you about the local plants and how they are used for food and traditional medicine, as well as give you more insight into the local Chagga culture. Finally, you will enjoy a hot Chagga lunch before returning to the airport, which ends our tour package.
