Day 1

Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

You will be met in the morning at the hotel or airport for a briefing before departing for a 6-hour drive to the famous Masai Mara National Reserve. This reserve is contiguous with Serengeti and is known for its spectacular great wildebeests' migration and is home to the Big Five; lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and rhino. You'll arrive in time for lunch at the camp followed by some rest before heading out for a visit to a Masai village.

You'll spend the whole day from early morning to evening exploring Masai Mara with a picnic lunch. Mara is contiguous with Serengeti and is home to lions, elephants, leopards, buffalo, rhinos, Masai giraffes, elands and thousands of plain game including impalas, zebras, topis, Thomson's and Grants gazelles.

Day 3

Masai Mara National Reserve to Lake Naivasha

Masai Mara National Reserve to Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, drive for 4 hours to Lake Naivasha. It is the highest and the most beautiful of the Rift Valley lakes. The water is fresh and the lake is fringed with dense clumps of papyrus. Lake Naivasha is an area popular with birdwatchers (over 400 species have been recorded). There are no crocodiles in the lake as the water is too cold for them due to altitude but there are a number of hippos. The lake supports flourishing horticulture along its shores. Boat rides to see birdlife and hippos or boat trips to Crescent Island for guided walks could be organized at extra cost.

Alternatively, substitute Lake Naivasha for Lake Nakuru National Park for wildlife viewing. Lake Nakuru is only 45 minutes away.

Day 4

Lake Naivasha to Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, depart and drive up the escarpment to Nairobi and through the scenic Athi Plains into Amboseli National Park. This is a famous location for viewing Africa's highest snow-capped mountain (Mount Kilimanjaro). It is home to big herds of elephants and other wild game such as the lions, cheetahs, antelopes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo and giraffes. On arrival, check in, take lunch and relax for a while before joining your driver guide for an afternoon game drive in the park.

Amboseli National Park to Tsavo East National Park

A sunrise game drive in Amboseli is the best time to catch a glimpse of the towering Mt Kilimanjaro. After breakfast, drive to Tsavo East for late lunch before an evening game drive. Dnner and your overnight stay will be at Impala Safari Lodge.

This park is mostly plains and a good place to see the "red elephants" and large herds of buffaloes. The sight of dust-red elephants wallowing, rolling and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters of the palm-shaded Galana River is one of the most evocative images in Africa. This, along with the 300 kilometer long Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world, make for an adventure unlike any other in the Tsavo East. The park forms the largest protected area in Kenya and is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust –red elephants, rhinos, buffalo, lions, leopards, pods of hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, lesser kudus, gerenuks and the prolific birdlife features 500 recorded species.
