Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park

Our guide will meet and warmly welcome you at the airport, presenting you with a special welcome gift. You will then be transferred to your lodge on the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Along the way, you will have a stopover in Kabale for a chance to stretch, relax, and pick up any personal items you may need. The journey continues through Uganda’s breathtaking Gorilla Highlands, where you’ll enjoy views of rolling hills, lush valleys, tea plantations, and vibrant local communities.

You will arrive at your lodge in the evening, just in time to unwind, enjoy dinner, and—if you wish—relax by a cozy campfire as you settle into the tranquility of the forest.

Gorilla trekking in bwindi impenetrable forest national park

Wake up early, enjoy breakfast, and set off for an unforgettable gorilla tracking experience. Upon arrival at the park headquarters in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you will attend a detailed briefing by the Uganda Wildlife Authority team, covering safety guidelines and trekking expectations.

You will then begin your guided trek through the forest in search of the magnificent mountain gorillas. The trek can take between 2 to 8 hours, depending on their location, and involves walking on uneven and sometimes slippery terrain. Despite the challenge, the experience is incredibly rewarding.

Once located, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing the gorillas up close. Afterward, return for debriefing and receive your trekking certificate.

Later, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation. Enjoy swimming, a boat ride, or simply unwind on one of its scenic islands.

Rest at the lake and later transfer to Kigali

Wake up at your leisure and enjoy a relaxed morning by the serene shores of Lake Bunyonyi. While at the lake, you may choose from a variety of included or optional activities, with additional experiences available upon request. Enjoy bird watching, swimming, high ropes, a thrilling zip line over the water, or a scenic ride on a “string bike.” You may also take a boat ride to explore the 29 islands of Africa’s second-deepest lake, including the historic Akampene Island, famously known as Punishment Island.

After a relaxing lunch at the hotel, you will transfer to Kigali International Airport for your departure, marking the end of your memorable journey.
