The entire day is set aside for more game drives in the Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is the habitat for an abundance of wildlife, such as impalas, buffalo, crocodiles and hippos. However, it is more well-known for its great migrating herds of zebras and wildebeest. The animals’ trek is determined by the rainfall and varies from year to year. In November and December, the animals move from the northern region, dominated by woodlands and hills, to the grassy plains of the south. During the longer rainy season from April to June, they return to the north. Apart from the migrating herds, you might have the chance to see predators, such as leopards, cheetahs and lions, always lurking close by enjoy the beautiful view of sundown.

Day 6
Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, your safari guide will drive you directly to Ngorongoro Crater, you will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife. Supported by a year-round supply of water and fodder, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is home to a wide variety of animals including herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, elk, warthog, hippo and giant African elephants. Another big card for this scenic national park is its dense population of predators, which includes lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large shallow alkaline lake in the southwest corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. Large numbers of flamingos, hippos, and other waterfowl can usually be seen here and then your safari guide will drive to Engutoku tok for short walking safari close to hippo pool later on enjoy your lunch then drive close to Manyara park.

After breakfast, we depart from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park which is an unspoilt paradise and is best known for its abundance of birds and tree-climbing lions. The dramatic western escarpment of the Rift Valley forms the Park’s western border. To the east is the shallow, alkaline Lake Manyara. The lake covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons and is home to thousands of flamingos during the rains. The name Manyara comes from the Maasai word ‘emanyara’, a popular plant which is used to build the protective enclosure around a family homestead The Park’s vegetation is diverse, ranging from savannah to evergreen forest.
