Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Arusha, heading west through the spectacular landscapes of northern Tanzania. Travel through the Great Rift Valley and the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands, enjoying beautiful views of rolling hills, local villages and the changing landscapes along the way.
Upon reaching Serengeti National Park, begin your en-route game drive, where the vast savannah opens before you and the search for wildlife begins. Start the morning with a game drive in the Serengeti, exploring the plains during one of the best times of day for wildlife activity. Watch for predators beginning their day and large herds moving across the open grasslands, while your guide shares insights into the animals and the remarkable ecosystem around you.
After the morning safari, continue towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying a game drive en route as you leave the Serengeti behind. The landscape gradually transforms from endless savannah into the lush and dramatic highlands of Ngorongoro, offering spectacular scenery and further opportunities for wildlife sightings along the way.
Arrive at Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, beautifully positioned on the crater rim. Spend the evening taking in panoramic views of the crater, enjoying dinner and relaxing in the cool highland atmosphere as you prepare for the following morning’s unforgettable crater safari.

After an early breakfast, descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for a morning game drive through one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife destinations. Approximately 600 metres below the crater rim, discover a remarkable natural ecosystem of grasslands, forests, wetlands and open plains, home to an impressive concentration of wildlife. During your game drive, look out for lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and hyenas, with the possibility of spotting the rare and endangered black rhinoceros. Pause for a scenic picnic lunch surrounded by the crater’s dramatic landscapes before continuing your exploration. After the game drive, ascend the crater and begin your scenic journey back to Arusha, enjoying one final look at the beautiful landscapes of northern Tanzania before arriving in the afternoon or early evening, bringing your safari adventure to a memorable close.
