Tarangire National Park - Ndutu - Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we will set off for the Ndutu area, which is famous for its calving season. Ndutu is part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the southern Serengeti ecosystem. Lake Ndutu, like most other rift lakes, is alkaline; however, the water is still drinkable and is consumed by a wide array of local wildlife. We will spend the afternoon on a game drive in the Ndutu area. The majority of the Great Migration can normally be found on the short-grass plains from December to April. The area is usually heavily populated with elephants, birds, and resident game.

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we will proceed for a full day of game drives in the wilderness, tracking the Great Migration trails. Our experienced driver-guide will share interesting facts about this renowned event, which has made Tanzania a top safari destination in Africa. The Serengeti, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is home to around 200,000 zebras and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelles that join the wildebeest on their trek for fresh grazing. Listen to the sounds of over six million hooves pounding across the open Serengeti plains, just as you might have imagined when dreaming of African wildlife.

Day 4

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park

Today you will wake up early in the morning, have breakfast, and start your full day game drive in the Serengeti. Our driver will take you to key areas in the park. We will make sure you follow the Great Wildebeest Migration wherever it may be during your tour with us.

The migration varies each year. The best chance of seeing it is from June to September, while the wildebeest calving season takes place from January to March. From July to September, our driver will take you to Northern Serengeti, where you may be able to see the migration crossing the Mara River. About one and a half million of these majestic animals travel throughout the year as they search for fresh grazing and follow the rainfall for better water sources. After your full-day game drive, you will return to your accommodations for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 5

Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater

Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater

We will have an early breakfast and then drive to the famous Ngorongoro Conservation Area. From here, we will descend 600 meters into the crater to view an array of wildlife. With its year-round water supply and fodder, the crater supports a wide variety of animals, including herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants, among others. What makes this attraction especially famous is the dense population of predators such as lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopard, which requires a trained eye to spot.

We will also visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwest corner and one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos, and other water birds can usually be seen here. In the evening, the drive back to town will begin.

Main Destination:
Ngorongoro Crater
Best Time To Visit June to October (Wildlife viewing is best)
