Day 1

Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

You will have an early breakfast and drive to Murchison Falls National Park, passing through beautiful woodlands and savannah grasslands. This journey takes 5 to 6 hours, and on arrival, you will have lunch. In the afternoon at 2:00 pm, you will go for an upstream boat cruise on the placid Victoria Nile to the base of the falls. En route, you will see hippo, crocodile, waterbuck, and a wide variety of birds like the unusual shoebill stork. The boat stops only a few meters from the “devil’s cauldron” for pictures to be taken of the majestic Murchison Falls. Thereafter, you will be returned to the booked lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2

Morning Game Drive

You will wake up very early and set off at 6:30 am for a sunrise game drive in the Nyamsika Plateau. See Cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, Uganda kobs, hartebeests, and waterbucks. You may also spot oribi, bushbuck, bohor reedbuck, sitatunga, duiker, warthog, and bush pig, as well as large carnivores including lions, leopards, and spotted hyenas.

Chimpanzees and olive baboons head the list of six species of primates found in the park. Crocodiles and hippos will be seen along the banks of the Nile. Some of the more common birds that can be seen include goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican, bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant, saddle-billed stork, and the rare shoebill stork. Afterward, you will start on the return journey to Entebbe.
