Arusha - North Serengeti National Park

Today you will have transferred to the Arusha airport for your flight to Serengeti National Park. Upon arrival, you will make your way to the northern part of the Serengeti (where the migration should be) near the Mara River in the hopes of seeing some of the migratory crossings. After an afternoon game drive your dinner and overnight stay will be at the Kontik Tented Camp

Serengeti National Park is the world's last great wildlife refuge. It contains an estimated three million large animals, most of which take part in a seasonal migration that is one of nature's greatest wonders. The park’s area covers 14,763 sq kms and the name Serengeti comes from the Maasai word “Siringet,” meaning endless plains.

Depending on the time of your visit, your driver-guide will be able to share the herd’s current location with you.

After a final morning in the Serengeti and some lunch we will drive to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. Your overnight stay will be at the Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinking water will be provided.

The dry season is a particularly good time for lion viewing in the central Serengeti. Several lion prides have been documented within a one-hour game drive radius from Seronera. During the dry season, the resident prides begin to shift west and north in their territories and concentrate in the central region of the park. The central Serengeti is also one of the best areas in Africa to spot the elusive leopard. You may be lucky enough to encounter this majestic cat in the branches of the sausage trees that dot the banks of the Seronera River.

Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha

After breakfast, you’ll descend into the crater for a tour. Later on, you will drive to Arusha, where you will proceed to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back to Zanzibar. Breakfast, lunch, and drinking water will be provided.

Often called the eighth natural wonder of the world, the Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater on earth. About two million years ago the Ngorongoro volcano erupted, and its walls collapsed. The volcano floor sank to create a natural enclosure with its 600m tall walls. Now, at over 19 kilometers wide, the Ngorongoro Crater is filled with great areas of acacia forest, hippo filled swamps, and open grasslands. These different habitats contain over 30,000 animals— including elephants, warthogs, flamingoes, magnificent birdlife, the rare black rhinoceros, and all the predatory cats. The Maasai can also be seen grazing their cattle alongside the buffalo and wildebeest.

Best Time To Visit June to October (Wildlife viewing is best)
High Season Most of the year – July to March (Expect crowds)
