3-Day Kruger National Park Small Group Big 5 Safari

Departure from Johannesburg - afternoon arrival in time for the sunset/evening game drive

Guests will be collected from various lodges and hotels within a 5km radius of the O.R. Tambo International Airport between 06h30 and 06h45, then from the O.R. Tambo International Airport shuttle and bus terminal between 06h45 and 07h00. We depart at 07h15.

Clients can fly directly to Skukuza Kruger National Park or Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport and be met by your safari guide at no additional cost.

Please note these are shared departures. We will travel directly to our lodge in Hazyview and arrive between 11h30 and 12h00. Guests can relax, unpack, and enjoy a light lunch. Afterward, enjoy a swim or walk around the beautiful lodge and its walking trail.

We depart at around 15h45 for a Sunset/Night Safari in the Kruger National Park before returning to the lodge at approximately 20h00 for a lovely Dinner and a good night’s rest.

Full-day open-vehicle safari

All Safaris start before sunrise. Mpumalanga means "the place of the rising sun" and is the first province in South Africa to see the sunrise. This is the best part of the day, not knowing what to expect. After a short drive to the park, we enter the Kruger park gates, and your guide will have an idea of the best areas to find the wildlife, including the Big 5 and plains game. This is the finest time of the day to see predators.

The lodge will arrange Breakfast Packs, and your guide will stop after about 3 hours for breakfast, a bathroom break, and a chance to get a coffee. We then continue with your Safari.

We then stop for lunch at a rest camp, where this meal will be for your own account. This is a great time to do some curio shopping or enjoy a cold beer! The guide will then continue with the Safari, heading towards the lodge. We arrive around 15h30 to 16h00, and it is then time to relax, swim, and have a great dinner around the fire.

Early morning safari and return to Johannesburg

On the last Safari, we depart the lodge before sunrise. We will have another packed breakfast at one of the rest camps or picnic sites. The guide will focus on animals we couldn’t find on the first 2 Safari drives, hoping for Lions and Leopards, as they are most active in the early mornings. The Kruger National Park has 148 mammal species and over 500 bird species, so there is much to see and photograph.

After a short breakfast and coffee stop, we will continue with the Safari and return to the lodge at around 11h00.

Say goodbye to your guide and freshen up before returning to Johannesburg. The shuttle collects clients at around 11h30, and we return to the Johannesburg O.R. Tambo shuttle terminal and lodges within a 5km radius, arriving between 17h00 and 18h00.
