Day 1

Your Tarangire, Ngorongoro & Lake Eyasi Cultural Safari with Rough & Dusty Safaris begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha. After a short safari briefing, drive towards Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania's most beautiful wildlife destinations.

The park is famous for its ancient baobab trees, scenic landscapes, and large elephant herds.
Enjoy a thrilling game drive through the park in search of elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeests, impalas, and a variety of bird species. The Tarangire River provides an important water source for wildlife, creating excellent opportunities for photography and unforgettable encounters.

After a picnic lunch inside the park, continue your afternoon game drive before departing towards Karatu town. Enjoy dinner and overnight accommodation in Karatu, a peaceful gateway to the Ngorongoro Highlands.

Day 2

After breakfast, depart from Karatu for the incredible Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa's most famous wildlife destinations. Descend into the crater floor for a full-day game drive surrounded by breathtaking scenery and an abundance of wildlife.

The crater offers one of the best chances to see the Big Five, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, and the endangered black rhino. You will also have opportunities to spot zebras, wildebeests, hippos, hyenas, and many other species living within this unique ecosystem.

Enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool before continuing your exploration. In the afternoon, ascend from the crater and return to Karatu for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart from Karatu towards Lake Eyasi, home to the indigenous Hadzabe and Datoga communities. This unique cultural experience offers a rare opportunity to learn about Tanzania's traditional way of life beyond wildlife safaris.

Visit the Hadzabe hunter-gatherers and discover their ancient traditions, hunting techniques, survival skills, and unique language. Continue to the Datoga community, known for their traditional blacksmith skills and craftsmanship. Interact with local people and gain insight into their customs, daily activities, and connection with nature.
