Arusha to Tarangire

You will be picked up in the morning and after a short briefing, you will head off in the direction of Tarangire National Park. The park, with its savannah, baobab trees, and seasonal swamps, is home to huge elephant herds. Animals gather at the life-giving Tarangire River and you should see a selection of mammals including giraffe, bushbuck, hartebeest, and warthog. The park is also home to buffalo, zebra, and wildebeest, which are always closely followed by a range of predators such as lions. Leopards are seen now and then, but cheetahs are rarely spotted. From the open roof of the safari vehicle, you will be able to absorb the landscape and watch the animals.

Tarangire to Ngorongoro

During the drive to Ngorongoro, we can glimpse into the Maasai way of life. After stopping at the entrance gate, there is a chance to learn more about this fascinating volcanic landscape. We will drive around the rim of the crater and from here, we can look down and see herds of wildebeests or buffalos. Finally, we descend into the crater. The crater walls provide a natural sanctuary for the animals which means there is plenty to see such as lions, elephants, buffalos, rhinos, and leopards (if you are lucky). In the late afternoon, we make a short journey from the crater to our permanent tented camp.

Ngorongoro to Manyara

Today we drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a full day of game drives. This park offers a rewarding and diverse safari experience. The lakeshore of Manyara teems with birdlife, and while you are looking for birds, you might spot one of the elusive tree-climbing lions. There are a surprising number of other large mammals. Experience the striking cliffs on the Rift Escarpment from a dramatic backdrop. After the drive, we exit the park and drive back to Arusha.
