Arusha Town to Tarangire National Park

Arusha Town to Tarangire National Park

Your safari begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi, or from the airport, followed by a journey to Tarangire National Park for a morning game drive.

Set along the Tarangire River in the Great Rift Valley, the park features rolling hills, Acacia woodlands, iconic baobab trees, and seasonal swamps. During the dry season, its river and wetlands attract abundant wildlife from across the region.

Tarangire is especially famous for its large elephant herds. You may also spot lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, and numerous bird species.

After the game drive, enjoy lunch at a scenic picnic site. In the afternoon, depart for Karatu, check in at your accommodation, and relax before the next day’s adventure in the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater.

Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, descend 600 meters into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day morning game drive. Often described as one of Africa’s most densely populated wildlife areas, the crater is home to around 30,000 animals, including some of Tanzania’s remaining black rhinos.

Its permanent water sources and fertile grasslands support a remarkable variety of wildlife, including wildebeest, zebras, buffaloes, eland, warthogs, hippos, and elephants. The crater also offers excellent opportunities to spot predators such as lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard.

Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch in the crater before driving back to Arusha or the airport, marking the end of your unforgettable Tanzanian safari adventure.
