Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) to Arusha

Upon arrival at the airport (Kilimanjaro JRO or Arusha ARK), you will be met by a Safari Africa United representative who will drive you to your lodgings in Arusha for an overnight stay. Here, you can prepare for your adventures to start the following day. Should you arrive early, you can opt to go on a city tour in Arusha.

Arusha to Tarangire National Park - approximately 149km (92ml) & 2 hrs drive

After an early breakfast at your accommodation in Arusha, your private driver-guide will pick you up for a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, approximately 2 hours away.

Covering about 2,600 square kilometers, Tarangire is one of Tanzania’s largest and most diverse parks. It is famed for its towering baobab trees and impressive elephant herds, often numbering over 300 individuals. The park also hosts large buffalo groups and healthy populations of lions and leopards.

During the dry season, Tarangire boasts the highest concentration of mammals in the country. You may even encounter wild dogs and rare antelopes such as the gerenuk. With over 550 bird species, the park is also a paradise for bird lovers.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park, followed by an afternoon of game viewing. Later, you will drive to Karatu, where you can relax and enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

After an early breakfast at your accommodation, you will depart for the Ngorongoro Area. Along the way, enjoy a stop at the crater viewpoint, offering a stunning panoramic view of this world-renowned natural wonder before descending into the crater floor.
The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, forming a breathtaking natural bowl of about 265 square kilometers, with walls rising up to 600 meters high. It is home to approximately 30,000 animals, including some of Africa’s most iconic wildlife.
This remarkable ecosystem provides one of the best opportunities in East Africa to spot the “Big Five” all in one place.

You will enjoy your packed picnic lunch at one of the scenic picnic sites inside the crater before continuing your afternoon game drive. Later in the day, you will ascend the crater walls and drive back to Arusha, where your unforgettable safari adventure with us comes to an end.
