At the foot of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara National Park offers breathtaking vistas as you make your way down into the park. With more than 400 different bird species identified in the park, Lake Manyara is a birdwatcher's paradise. Around the lake's edges, keep an eye out for vibrant birds, including flamingos, pelicans, storks, herons, and many species of ducks.
The abundance of tree-climbing lions at Lake Manyara is one of its most distinctive features. There's a potential that you will encounter these lions sleeping in the acacia tree branches, which is an uncommon sight in other parts of Africa; however, this is not a given.
