Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Your Northern Tanzania Big Five Safari with Rough & Dusty Safaris begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha. After a short safari briefing, travel through the scenic Maasai countryside to Tarangire National Park, famous for its giant baobab trees and one of the largest elephant populations in East Africa.

Enjoy a full-day game drive in search of elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeests, impalas, warthogs, and over 500 bird species. A picnic lunch is served inside the park before continuing your afternoon game drive along the Tarangire River, where wildlife gathers to drink.

Enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool before continuing your game drive through this remarkable ecosystem. In the afternoon, ascend the crater walls and return to your lodge for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, continue your safari to Lake Manyara National Park, a beautiful park at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment.

Explore its lush forests, open plains, and lakeshore during a morning game drive. The park is well known for its tree-climbing lions, elephants, giraffes, hippos, zebras, baboons, blue monkeys, and colourful birdlife, including seasonal flamingos.
