Karibu! Welcome to Tanzania! After arriving at the Kilimanjaro International Airport, your Massawe Adventures representative driver / guide will pick you up and transfer you to your accommodation, Chanya Lodge. There you'll have dinner and your overnight stay where you can rest and gather energy for your exciting safari departure the next day.

Day 2

Local Tour

Local Tour

After breakfast, you will be met by Massawe Adventures staff with a private vehicle and taken to the beautiful Materuni waterfalls. Materuni Waterfall is a booming waterfall just 15-kilometers from Moshi Town. En route to the waterfalls, we will stop for a coffee tour in the village, where you will have the opportunity to observe the process of making that beloved cup of coffee from the coffee bean. After the visit to the coffee plantation village, you will be served a locally produced lunch, before heading off to explore the massive Materuni waterfalls
This excursion makes for a perfect day trip to climatize with the weather before starting your safari adventure. With about eight kilometers of walking throughout the day and 300 meters of incline, this adventure is a great warm-up for the legs while also getting to immerse yourself in the local culture.
At the end of the day you will check in to Green Side Cottages for your overnight stay.

Day 3

Lake Manyara

Your day will start with an early morning departure for Lake Manyara National Park where you will explore a wealth of habitats, from swamps and the tranquil lake to the mountainous escarpment of the Great Rift Valley. With its location at the base of the East African rift valley along the Gregory rift, it offers spectacular viewing of the escarpment. Lake Manyara National Park is described as one of the hidden gems of Tanzania, and it is also famous for its tree-climbing lions and large herds of elephants (The Elephants are not shy of tourists). After the safari, the adventure continues onto the Ngorongoro Crater for an overnight stay at Pembeni Africa.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, there is an awe-inspiring descent into the crater – a wonderful haven for wildlife and one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The Ngorongoro crater, which is the world's largest caldera, is often referred to as 'Africa's garden of Eden. An estimated 30,000 animals including lion, buffalo, zebra, elephant and rhino to name but a few can be found in the crater. Enjoy lunch in the crater before returning to Arusha, where you will be staying overnight at The Green Side Cottages.

Travel to West Kilimanjaro to explore a choice of experiences, suitable for a day excursion or a longer overnight stay in West Kilimanjaro. Our travel planner will assist you with the options available for you.
Each cultural experience offers a different learning opportunity and each has its own unique flavour. The adventurers may choose between one of the following options:

Visit Osiligilai (traditional Maasai houses) to see how the traditional Maasai live.

Olpopongi (Maasai Cultural Village & Museum) opportunity to experience historical Maasai traditions.

Day 6-7

Pangani Beach

In the morning you will drive to Pangani in the Tanga Region on the stunning coast of Tanzania. There you will enjoy relaxing, sunbathing, swimming and also sample the scrumptious and fresh local cuisine.
There are other island trips and excursions available, such as snorkelling at Maziwa Island, boat trip to Zanzibar. For an added fee you can add them to your tour. Your travel planner will assist you with the bookings.
You will be spending the two days at Emayani Beach Lodge.

On the final day of the tour, you will have the opportunity to explore the city of Moshi to gather souvenirs and experiences before the trip commences home. We are happy to advise the various activities available that may be of interest, idepending on how you'd like to spend the remainder of your time in the town (we'd always recommend exploring the food stalls and local markets to pick up authentic Tanzanian art and handcrafted items).
