Arusha - Lake Manyara National Park

Arusha - Lake Manyara National Park

Distance: 120km, ETA: 2 hours
Wildlife Viewing Time: 7 hours
Activities: Game Drives

Airport Pick Up Included: We advise you arrive a day before or very early in the morning and start the tour on the same day.

Pick up from your hotel in Arusha at around 07:30am and drive on a tarmac road 120Km (2 hours) to Lake Manyara NP (330 Km2). The park has a massive but shallow soda lake located at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. The varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, Manyara’s unique tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos. Manyara is a scenic gem, with a setting extolled by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”. From the entrance gate, along the roadside, blue monkeys scamper nimbly between the ancient mahogany trees, dainty bush buck tread warily through the shadows, and out sized forest horn bills honk cacophonous in the high canopy. Meal Plan: L, D.

Main Destination:
Lake Manyara National Park
Best Time To Visit June to October (Easier to spot animals)

Early morning game drives in the Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti National Park is arguably the most impressively magnificent wildlife sanctuary in the world. The park is famous for the 'Great Migration', when over one million wildebeest and two hundred thousand plus zebras each year follow the seasonal rains for green pastures. Even without this mass migration, the Serengeti is still an impressive and spectacular place that still cannot fail to enthrall. Enjoy game drives until around sunset. Dinner and overnight at the Camp. Meal Plan: {B, L, D}.

Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater Rim

Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater Rim

Distance: 145km, ETA: 3 hours
Wildlife Viewing Time: 5 hours
Activities: Game Drives

We start the game drive first thing early in the morning after a cup of coffee. You will find the Serengeti at its most active at this time. This is when Africa can reveal its cool side so you should wrap up warm (we aim to be on the road before the sun rises). Few predators hunt during the heat of the day, so the early morning is the best time to observe the thrill of the chase. It is also a magical time, with the subtle light dappling the landscape, the birds awakening and the sense of a great adventure beginning to unfold. We'll return to the camp for a brunch, and depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Dinner and Overnight at Ngorongoro Campsite. Meal Plan: {B, L, D}.

Ngorongoro Crater Floor - Mto wa Mbu

Distance: 130km, ETA: 2 hours
Wildlife Viewing Time: 7 hours
Activities: Game Drives

After an early morning breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater. The Ngorongoro Crater (19.2km of diameter, 610m deep, and 304 sq km) is one of the most densely crowded wildlife areas in the world and is home to some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhinos. Its huge population of predators is another big draw card to this picturesque crater. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, this breathtaking oasis provides a haven for both predator and prey to live among grasslands. After game drives, drive to the camp for the overnight. Meal Plan: B, L, D.

Main Destination:
Ngorongoro Crater

High Season Most of the year – July to March (Expect crowds)
