Johannesburg to the Sabi Sands Game Reserve
You will be picked up from the Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport Bus Terminal in the wee hours of the morning. You'll be driven on the N4 freeway eastward through the Highveld of Gauteng and Mpumalanga, and then down the escarpment into the beautiful Lowveld, until you reach the reserve within the Greater Kruger National Park.
The trip will take roughly six hours, including breaks for food and rest, and you should get to the lodge sometime around lunchtime.
After checking in and settling in for a while, you will have the option of taking an afternoon game drive in the reserve in an open safari vehicle with a knowledgeable guide.
You may look forward to a delicious dinner and a warm welcome back at the lodge.

Morning and Afternoon Open Vehicle Safari Drives
Before departing on your 3-hour morning game drive with the sun rising in the east, you will be served a selection of hot beverages and rusks.
When you return to the lodge, you can have a late breakfast and then spend the rest of the day at the pool, library, or relaxing.
Your afternoon open vehicle game drive with an expert guide will begin around 4:00 pm, and you will be back in time for another starlit dinner.
You'll stay at Elephant Plains Game Lodge in luxury, and your package includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Final Safari Drive and Return to Johannesburg
Rise early once more, enjoy a hot beverage and rusk, and bid farewell to the bush on a final morning game drive.
You'll return to the lodge for breakfast after viewing one last African sunrise before departing for Johannesburg. You will arrive at your drop-off location at around 5:00 pm.
