Johannesburg to Southern Kruger National Park

Departing from Johannesburg, our journey leads us to the southern part of the Kruger National Park.

On our scenic route, we will stop for lunch at Schoemanskloof (own expense), one of seven spectacular destinations along the Highlands Meander of Mpumalanga. After lunch, we will continue our journey until we arrive at the gate of the Kruger National Park.

After a quick paperwork session and completing the entry procedures, we enter the park, allowing us to start experiencing the beauty and wildlife immediately. We will spend the rest of the afternoon on safari, looking out for whatever Mother Nature throws our way.

Game Drives in Southern Kruger National Park

Today we get up early as we want to further explore the Southern Section of the Kruger National Park as soon as we can, for our full day of game viewing. The Southern section of the park offers the opportunity to see some different species of animals like Rhino, Wild Dogs, Herds of Buffalo and Elephant as well as other predators like Lion and Hyenas because the South usually has a bit more water, naturally attracting more animals.

Our day is dedicated for driving around in search of these animals; however we will stop regularly at some of the parks’ rest camps for some leg stretches and comfort breaks as well as some waterholes on route. Lunch today will be in the park (own expense)

Later in the afternoon, we head to our accommodation which again is situated inside the park for the night.

This evening we also have a sunset/nightdrive included as we want to go out in the dark and see what animals come alive when “the lights go out”.

Kruger National Park and Scenic Drive Back to Johannesburg

After another early morning safari, we will depart from the Kruger National Park area and slowly make our way back to Johannesburg. We will drive through numerous small villages and towns and stop at one of them to enjoy lunch.

The tour will end in the late afternoon upon arrival at the airport or lodge of your choice.
