Journey to Samburu – Into the Wild North
Your adventure begins with an early morning scenic drive to Samburu National Reserve. A special stop at the equator offers a chance to stretch your legs and mark your entry into Kenya's northern hemisphere. From here, the landscape gradually shifts into the semi-arid wilderness.
By midday, you arrive at camp, a serene retreat along the Ewaso Nyiro River, where a delicious lunch awaits. Relax for a bit in your tent's very own plunge pool overlooking the river and gazelles wandering along.
Then, set off on your first exhilarating game drive. Samburu is a land of striking contrasts, from rocky outcrops to sweeping savannahs. Track the Special Five: The Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk, a group only found here. Lions laze in the grass, elephants cool off by the river, and with luck, a leopard may emerge from the trees.
As the sun dips, return to camp for a sumptuous dinner served in the dining area or under the open sky ablaze with stars.
