Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

Pick up from your Hotel in the morning and transfer to Marangu Gate and do a registration at the gate. After registration begin trekking through the rainforest to Mandara hut. Here you will have an acclimatization opportunity of visiting Maundi Crater. Dinner and overnight at Mandara Hut.
Trek Time: 3-4 Hours
Elevation: 1,830m (6,000ft) to 2,740m (9,000ft).

Horombo Hut

After breakfast, continue on an ascending path, through heathland, looking for giant lobelias and groundsels. Continue up into open moorlands where small shrubs are the main vegetation. Stop halfway for lunch, to enjoy amazing views of Mawenzi. Arrive at the Horombo Huts late afternoon beneath the spectacular Kibo Summit viewpoint. Temperatures begin to drop.
Trek Time: 5-6 hours
Elevation: 2740m(9000ft) to 3690m (12,100ft).

Kibo Hut

After breakfast, you will continue to trek past the last water point to reach saddle area, a great desert between the two peaks Mawenzi and Kibo. An early dinner and overnight at Kibo hut.
Trek time: 5-6 hours
Elevation: 3690m(12,100ft) to 4695m (15,400ft).

Kibo Hut to Summit to Horombo Hut

Around midnight, you'll start the ascent to the summit, aiming to reach Uhuru Peak. Trekking in darkness, you'll make your way through steep and rocky terrain. After reaching Gilman's Point at 5,681 meters (18,638 feet) and witnessing the sunrise, the final push to Uhuru Peak awaits. Spend some time at the summit to celebrate your achievement and capture the breathtaking vistas. Following this unforgettable experience, you'll start the descent back to Kibo Hut and eventually continue down to the Horombo Hut, for overnight stay.

Elevation: 4695m (15,400ft) to 5895m (19,340ft).

Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate to Moshi

After breakfast, continue your descent through the moorland to Mandara Huts. Here you will have lunch then proceed your triumphant recessional down through lush forest to Marangu park gate and receive certificates for successful summit attempts. Transfer back to your hotel in Moshi.

Elevation: 3690m (12,100ft) to 1830m (6000ft).
