We look forward to welcoming you to Makuwa Safari Lodge and making your journey as seamless as possible. Your transfer shuttle will collect you at O.R. Tambo International Airport at 7:45 am and transport you to Hoedspruit where you'll arrive at around 1:45 pm. Our friendly staff will be ready to greet you and take you to the lodge.
Upon arrival, you'll check into your room. After settling in, take a dip in our sparkling pool or enjoy a sundowner around the campfire before dinner. Our central communal area is designed for a simple yet stylish dining experience, with a casual bar area and patio featuring a dining table that creates the perfect setting for a rustic farm-to-table meal.

Join us on an unforgettable full-day Big Five guided game-viewing excursion in the Kruger National Park, an experience not to be missed. Departing in an open 4x4 vehicle at the break of dawn is the best time to catch the predators when they are most active.
We'll supply a packed breakfast for you to enjoy en-route or at a stop inside the park. At an additional cost, the lodge can pack a picnic lunch for you to enjoy in the park. There will be regular rest stops throughout the day, and you'll have the opportunity to purchase unique curios inside the park.
After experiencing the wonders of Kruger National Park we'll return in the late afternoon, giving you time to freshen up before we serve a delicious dinner at the lodge.

Embark on a thrilling half-day Big Five guided game-viewing excursion in an open 4x4 vehicle in the world-renowned Kruger National Park. Departing at the break of dawn, you'll have the best chance to spot the predators in their natural habitat.
Makuwa Safari Lodge will provide you with a delicious packed breakfast to enjoy en-route or at a stop inside the park. During the drive, there will be regular rest stops to stretch your legs and capture some unforgettable photos of the stunning wildlife and landscapes.
After your exhilarating game drive, return to the lodge in time for lunch (not included), where you can unwind and relax by the pool or on your patio, immersing yourself in the magical sounds of Africa.
In the evening, indulge in a sumptuous dinner at the lodge and recount the day's exciting sightings with fellow guests. Kruger National Park conservation fees are payable at the entrance to the park (see the local payment information).

Wake up to the stunning views of the bushveld and savor a scrumptious breakfast at the lodge, with no rush to start the day. Today, you have the freedom to choose your adventure!
If you're up for exploring, the lodge offers a plethora of optional activities, including:
- Enjoying sundowner drinks with picturesque views of the bushveld and Drakensberg escarpment.
- Savoring a bush breakfast or dinner under the starry sky.
- Embarking on a guided bushwalk with a local ranger.
- Embarking on a full-day or half-day game drive into Kruger National Park.
- Birdwatching amidst nature's glory.
- Discovering the Panorama Route and Blyde River Canyon on a guided full-day tour.
- Seeing the Hoedspruit area from above on a helicopter flight.
- Visiting the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre or the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre.
Later in the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner at the lodge before retiring for the night in the tranquil African bush.

Awaken to the enchanting sounds of the bushveld and savor your last breakfast in the tranquil wilderness of Makuwa Safari Lodge.
Our team will be on hand to assist you in your transfer back to Hoedspruit, departing the lodge between 9:00 am and 9:30 a.m. Upon your arrival in Hoedspruit, your Johannesburg shuttle will be ready to collect you, ensuring your safe and comfortable journey back to O.R. Tambo International Airport.
