Arrival and Transfer to Mount Elgon National Park

You will be met by your tour guide at Entebbe International Airport, who will then brief you on your itinerary for the next few days.
Start your journey to Mount Elgon National Park, located in the eastern part of Uganda, bordering Kenya. The drive takes approximately 5-6 hours, and you will pass through several small towns and rural areas, with beautiful scenery along the way.
Upon arrival at the park, check-in at your lodge and enjoy a delicious lunch. Take a walk around the lodge or relax and enjoy the stunning views of the mountain.

Hiking and Exploring Mount Elgon

After breakfast, set out for a hiking adventure on Mount Elgon.
Start with a guided hike to the Sipi Falls, a stunning series of three waterfalls situated at the foothills of the mountain. The hike takes about 3-4 hours, and you will pass through lush vegetation and scenic landscapes while enjoying the stunning views of the waterfalls and surrounding countryside.
After exploring the waterfalls, have your packed lunch and then continue hiking through the forest to the caves, where you will learn about the history and mythology of the mountain.
Return to your lodge for a relaxing evening, and enjoy a delicious dinner.

Nature Walks and Community Visits

After breakfast, embark on a nature walk in the forest, accompanied by a guide who will help you spot different bird and primate species. The walk takes about 3-4 hours, and you will have the opportunity to spot different monkey species, such as the black and white colobus monkey, blue monkey, and the olive baboon, as well as various bird species.
After the nature walk, visit the nearby community to learn about their way of life and culture, including the process of coffee production, a significant cash crop in the area. You will have the opportunity to meet the local people, learn about their traditional ways of life, and even try your hand at roasting coffee beans. Enjoy a delicious lunch with the community before returning to your lodge for a leisurely afternoon.
You can choose to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings or go for another short walk or hike before enjoying dinner at your lodge.

Departure
