Ngorongoro Crater
You will be picked up at the hotel and transferred to the Ngorongoro Crater. The name has an almost mystical ring to it, conjuring images of a giant wildlife-filled volcanic caldera, where the Big Five and many other animals roam. But there’s even more – the Ngorongoro Conservation Area also encompasses mountains, lakes, forests and wide-open African plains! With the world-famous crater at its heart, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area covers an area of 8,300 square kilometers.
The rim of the crater is an astounding 2,286 meters above sea level. The floor contains a small soda lake, Lake Magadi, and it is estimated that 30,000 animals are living in the crater, making it the most intensive safari game viewing area on earth! It was therefore very fittingly declared a World Heritage Site in 1978.
After the day one tour ends, you will be dropped off at a hotel in Karatu town.

Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park
This morning, it's time to go looking for lions, elephants, and other incredible animals on your guided game drive through Tarangire National Park.
The park runs along the line of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. During Tanzania's Dry season, the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This African national park is also home to 3 rare species of animals: the greater kudu, the fringed-eared oryx, as well as the ashy starling.
The great elephant population is an extremely remarkable sight. African elephants are the largest land mammals, and adult males can weigh as much as 7 tons. Tarangire’s varied wildlife includes lions, giraffes, warthogs, ostriches, impalas, cheetahs, mongoose, buffaloes, and baboons.
When your game drive comes to an end, your guide will take you to Arusha or the airport for drop off.
