Day 1

Transfer to Mbale City

Upon landing at Entebbe International Airport, our driver guide will brief you on your program for the tour and thereafter prepare you for transfer to a hotel for overnight stay or directly to Mbale depending on your time of arrival at Entebbe International Airport.

During your transfer, you will have multiple stopovers for convenience, refreshments at selected eateries as well stopovers for our driver- guide to highlight interesting features along the way.
Once in Mbale, you will be welcomed by the steep slopes and highland terrain of the Elgon ranges.

Check in at safari lodge: You will then check into your pre- booked accommodation and settle in for a lunch course as you prepare for an afternoon coffee tour in the hills of the Elgon.

Dinner: After the coffee excursion you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Early morning breakfast: You will rise to an early morning breakfast at 6;ooam to start your day. You may be advised by our driver guide on the option of having your breakfast packed so you may munch away at a later time or at an appropriate stopover during your drive

Sipi falls experience: After breakfast, you will then set on a journey northwards to the steep highland terrain that harbors the beautiful sipi falls where you will engage in abseiling the falls and also take a hike to view all three sipi falls.

Check in at safari lodge: After an exciting exploration of the falls in the Kapchorwa region, you will proceed with your journey to Moroto the land of the Karamojong. A people with a rich heritage and culture characterized by very unique ways of living. Once in Moroto, you will settle in to cozy setting at the Kara Tunga Safari camp or any other lodge of similar standards for dinner and overnight stay.

Breakfast: You will rise to the cheerful chirping of the birds and sober up to a delicious breakfast. Thereafter yo will meet the driver-guide who will prepare you for a Karamojong cultural excursion

Cultural tour: After breakfast, you will set out into the Karamojong communities to learn about the ways of life of the Karamojong people, their traditions, norms, beliefs, and practices. You will engage in the "manyatta" experience where you will visit a homestead and practically experience the life of a Karamojong in a home.

Museum visit: You will also visit the Karamojong museum at the foot of Mount Moroto. At the museum, you will find several collections of irreplaceable craft that illustrate the rich cultural heritage of the Karamojong people. A site guide will elaborate the interesting facts and history of the collections at the museum. There after you will return to the camp for lunch as you prepare for transfer to Kidepo national park.

Early morning breakfast: On this 4th day, you will rise to an early morning breakfast to allow you enough time to salvage the early morning drive. After breakfast, our driver-guide will take you on a game drive to view the incredible wildlife of the land. You will steadily navigate the tracks in search of some of Africa’s Big Five game i.e. lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo.

The expansive and unobstructed Kidepo terrain will give you great chances to spot the cats like lions, cheetahs, leopards and others scattered throughout the plains. After the thrilling game drive, you will return to the lodge for an early lunch break as you prepare for transfer to the Pearl of Africa’s largest conservation area – Murchison Falls National Park.

Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park: Mid morning, you will set off from Kidepo and head to Murchison Falls National Park where you arrive in the evening and check in to Twiga Safari Lodge or Pakuba Safari Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 5

Game drive and boat cruise

Game drive and boat cruise

You will rise to an early morning breakfast at 6:00am to start your day. You may be advised by our driver-guide on the option of having your breakfast packed so you may munch away at a later time or at an appropriate stopover during your game drive. After breakfast, our driver-guide will take you on a game drive to view and learn about the incredible wildlife in the national park. During the game drive, you will have a chance to spot Africa’s Big Five – the lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants as well as buffaloes. Thereafter you may return to your lodge for your lunch and after prepare for an afternoon boat cruise.

The boat cruise will most likely take much of the afternoon, as you watch elephants splashing water with their trunk all over the place, as their babies play in the mud. The boat cruise will take you to the bottom of Murchison falls.

Dinner: After the exciting boat ride, our driver-guide will then transfer you back to your lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 6

On this day, you will rise to a convenient breakfast with our driver-guide at dawn. Thereafter, you will embark on a drive southwards winding your way through Budongo forest up to the apex of commanding views- the raging falls, gushing downstream the river Nile

Thereafter you will head to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for a thrilling experience of rhino tracking. You will watch the gargantuan creatures swagger about in their territory from a close distance. During the tracking, you will learn that rhinos are among the endangered species and yet among Africa’s “big five” and your guide will elaborate the history of these great creatures in Uganda and the conservation efforts undertaken at the sanctuary. The tracking may last 1-3 hours and thereafter you will embark on a journey to Kibale National Park.

Once in Kibale, you will check in your pre-booked accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7

Early morning breakfast: You will rise to the melodious chirping of the birds at dawn and head for an early breakfast to charge up for the day’s activities.

Chimpanzee tracking: After breakfast, you will then set out with our driver-guide to the briefing station for a quick briefing and thereafter embark on a hike in search of the closest relatives to mankind – the chimpanzees. The hike may last any where between 1-5 hours and you will have up to an hour with these majestic creatures once you locate them.

Lunch: After the chimpanzee tracking experience, you will return to the lodge for lunch. Bigodi Swamp Walk: After lunch you will set out once again in the company of our driver-guide to Bigodi swamp, where you will engage in a guided walk to spot some more rare yet incredible primate and birds species endemic to the swamp. This walk will also provide you with the opportunity to interact with the local community, witness craft making and the ways of life of the natives of the area.

Breakfast: A fine breakfast will be served conveniently to allow you sleep in a little bit and rejuvenate ahead of your journey into realm of the mountain gorillas.

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park: You will meet with our driver-guide and embark on a driver further south into the mountainous terrain of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – home to more than half of the world’s population of the mountain gorillas.

Check in at safari lodge: Once in Bwindi, you will check in to a pre-booked accommodation and settle in for a lunch course.

Batwa Community Visit: After lunch, our driver-guide will lead you to the batwa community to learn about an ancient society that once lived in the mighty Bwindi Impenetrable rainforest co-existing with the mountain gorillas. You will learn interesting facts about their traditions, ways of life and how they have adapted to life away from the forest.

Dinner: You will then return to your lodge for dinner followed by overnight stay.

Day 9

Gorilla trekking

Gorilla trekking

Early morning breakfast: After an early breakfast between 6:00am and 7:30am, you will be provided with packed lunch and transferred to the Uganda Wildlife Authority station for briefing ahead of your trek.

Briefing: During the briefing, you will be equipped with the dos and don’ts of the trek as well as necessary materials for the hike. After the briefing, together with the ranger guides, you will embark on the gorilla trekking experience that lasts anywhere between 1-5 hours with 1 hour spent interacting, taking photos and videos of the majestic creatures once sighted.

Dinner: After spending about half of the day on the gorilla trekking activity, you will return to the lodge early afternoon and spend the rest of the afternoon resting and relaxing and at dusk, you will have your farewell dinner as you prepare for your transfer to the republic of Tanzania for the second phase of your tour.

On this day of your 15 days safari, you will meet with our driver-guide for/after a convenient breakfast and thereafter check out as you prepare to start your journey back to Entebbe International Airport for your departing flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania.

Depending on your flight departure time, you may have the opportunity for a brief city tour as well as visiting the local crafts markets in Kampala, the capital of Uganda or Entebbe city for a chance to buy some souvenir crafts to take with you.

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will meet our representative who will be waiting to welcome you and transfer you to either a hotel or to Tarangire National Park (depending your flight arrival time).

Day 11

On this day, our guide will start the day with an introductory briefing as you head into the vast wilderness of the Tarangire National Park.

The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This African national park is also home to three rare species of animals – the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, as well as a few Ashy Starlings.

We shall have a picnic lunch after which we will continue with game until late evening, then drive to the accommodation at Lake Burunge Tented Camp or any other facility of similar standards where our driver-guide will then brief you on the next day’s program as you settle in for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast we head towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species.
