Day 1

Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Murchison Falls National Park

Upon landing at Entebbe International Airport, our driver-guide will brief you on your program for the tour and thereafter prepare you for transfer to a hotel for overnight stay or directly to the national park depending on your time of arrival at the airport.

During your transfer to the national park, you will have multiple stopovers for convenience, refreshments at selected eateries as well stopovers for our driver-guide to highlight interesting features along the way. An important stopover will be made at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for a thrilling experience of rhino tracking. You will watch the gargantuan creatures swagger about in their territory from a close distance (about 6 meters). The tracking may last 1-3 hours and thereafter you will resume your journey to Murchison Falls National Park.

Check-in at Safari Lodge: At Murchison, you will check in to your pre-booked accommodation at Pakuba Safari Lodge.

Day 2

Game drive and Boat cruise

Game drive and Boat cruise

You will rise to an early morning breakfast at 6:00am to get you energized for the day. You may be advised to have an option of having your breakfast packed so you may munch away at a later time or at an appropriate stopover during your game drive. Our driver-guide will take you on a game drive to view and learn about the incredible wildlife in the national park. During the game drive, you will have a chance to sight hyenas, hippos, warthogs, giraffes, lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes and many more. Thereafter you may return to your lodge or have your lunch from a convenient nearby eatery as you prepare for an afternoon boat cruise.

After lunch our driver-guide will transfer you to the Paraa jetty for a boat cruise that typically lasts about 2-3 hours. You will have a chance to view water birds, hippos, crocodiles, antelopes and many more, as they rest along and relish the Nile waters.

Dinner: U will then be transferred back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3

Transfer to Kibale National park

On this 3rd day of your tour, after your breakfast you will be transferred by our driver-guide to Kibale National Park – a primate haven.

The drive may last 6-8 hours with stopovers along the way for convenience, refreshments and sighting of interesting features along the way.

Once at Kibale National Park, you will check in to your pre-booked accommodation at Chimpanzee Forest Lodge or any other of similar standards.

Our driver-guide will then brief you on the next day’s program as you settle in for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 4

Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi swamp walk

Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi swamp walk

You will rise to the melodious chirping of the birds at dawn and head for an early breakfast to charge up for the day’s activities.

After breakfast, you will then set out with our driver-guide to the briefing station for a quick briefing and thereafter embark on a hike in search of the closest relatives to mankind – the chimpanzees. The hike may last any where between 1-5 hours and you will have up to an hour with these majestic creatures once you locate them. After the chimpanzee tracking experience, you will return to the lodge for lunch.

Later in the afternoon, you will set out once again in the company of our driver-guide to Bigodi swamp, where you will engage in a guided walk to spot some more rare yet incredible primate and birds species endemic to the swamp. This walk will also provide you with the opportunity to interact with the local community. After a thrilling swamp excursion, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

On this 5th day of your tour, you will rise to a convenient breakfast and meet up with our driver-guide will who prepare you for transfer to yet another fascinating destination – Queen Elizabeth National Park, the second largest conservation area in Uganda after Murchison Falls National Park.

On arrival at Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will check in to your pre-booked accommodation at Engazi game Lodge or any other of similar standards.

After a sumptuous lunch, you will take short drive to the salt mines and learn the salt mining economic activity that is a major source of livelihood for the communities surrounding the Katwe region.

Dinner: By dusk you will return to the lodge and settle in for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6

The morning game drive is conceivably the most ideal because the chances to see the beasts are high since they are just coming out of their hiding places, to go out and look for food. You will have an opportunity to sight see a variety of wildlife species including lions, leopards and elephants.

Later, You will return to the lodge for lunch or dine at nearby eatery as you prepare for an afternoon boat cruise.

You will see some of the enchanting sites in your life: Baby elephants frolicking in the mud and water, waterbucks, Hippopotamus, buffaloes, and other marine creatures, parading on the slow-flowing water banks of the Kazinga channel, cooling off. By the way, the Kazinga channel has the highest concentration of hippos in the world.

Dinner: After a thrilling day of wildlife sighting, you will return to your lodge by dusk and settle in for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7

Transfer to Bwindi and Batwa community visit

Transfer to Bwindi and Batwa community visit

A fine breakfast will be served conveniently to allow you sleep in a little bit and rejuvenate ahead of your journey into realm of the mountain gorillas. You will meet with our driver-guide and embark on a drive further south into the mountainous terrain of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – home to more than half of the world’s population of the mountain gorillas.

Once in Bwindi, you will check in to a pre-booked accommodation and settle in for a lunch course. After lunch, our driver-guide will lead you to the Batwa community to learn about an ancient society that once lived in the mighty Bwindi Impenetrable rainforest co-existing with the mountain gorillas. You will learn interesting facts about their traditions, ways of life and how they have adapted to life away from the thick of the forest.

Dinner: You will then return to your lodge for dinner followed by overnight stay.

Day 8

Gorilla trekking

Gorilla trekking

After an early breakfast between 6:00am and 7:30am, you will be provided with packed lunch and transferred to the Uganda Wildlife Authority station for briefing ahead of your trek. During the briefing, you will be equipped with the dos and don’ts of the trek as well as necessary materials for the hike.

After the briefing, together with the ranger guides, you will embark on the gorilla trekking experience that lasts anywhere between 1-5 hours with 1 hour spent interacting, taking photos and videos of the majestic creatures once sighted.

Thereafter, you will be guided back to the station to receive your gorilla trekking certificate and then transferred back to your lodge where you will spend the rest of the afternoon resting or relaxing.

Dinner: A dinner course will be served early to allow you enough rest time ahead of transfer to the Republic of Rwanda the following day.

Day 9

On this day, you will rise to a convenient breakfast as you prepare for transfer to the Republic of Rwanda.

In the afternoon, you will embark on a drive eastwards to Akagera National Park. This amazing 1122 sq. km of protected area is home to a variety of wildlife species such as lions, elephants, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes and hundreds of incredible bird species.

At Akagera National Park, you will check in to your pre-booked accommodation at Akagera game lodge for a deeper nature-themed experience or any other lodge of similar standards.

As you settle in for dinner and overnight stay, our driver-guide will brief you on the next day’s program.

Day 10

On this 10th morning of your tour, an early morning cup of coffee will surely be a necessity to sober you up for the day’s exciting activities. Breakfast will be served early by 6:00am to allow you set out in good time for the game drive. You will meet with our driver-guide and set out on a game drive in the national park to view and learn about the amazing wildlife. You will have a chance to sight lions, elephants, giraffes, impalas and zebras among many others. You will later return to the lodge for lunch as you prepare for an afternoon boat trip. The boat trip rewards you with a close up view of the wildlife gathering for a drink as well as good sightings of the marine life such as the crocodiles, the hippos, water-birds among hundreds of other bird species.
After the boat ride, you will return to the lodge and settle in for dinner and overnight stay.

After a delightful breakfast on this day, you will prepare for transfer to the capital city of the Republic of Rwanda – Kigali. You will meet our driver-guide who will transfer you to your pre-booked hotel in the city. After a light refreshment you will embark on a drive to the Kigali Genocide Memorial grounds for a sobering tribute to the victims of the 1994 genocide.

Dinner & Night life: After which you will return to the hotel for dinner, freshen up and set out for a night life experience in the heart of the capital and later return to the hotel for your overnight stay.
