Johannesburg to Arathusa Safari Lodge

Departing from the Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport Bus Terminal by 7:00am, the route from Johannesburg to the Greater Kruger National Park in Mpumalanga takes about 6 hours. You will leave the city behind and drive through the wide-open spaces of the Highveld, down the escarpment and through the scenic Lowveld.

You will stop for snacks and refreshments and reach the lodge around mid-day.

Freshen up after the long drive before departing on a late afternoon game drive in the reserve. Dinner will be served in the boma under the stars.

Morning and Afternoon Open Vehicle Safari Drives

It would be best if you were awake and up early, grab a hot beverage and rusks before departing on a sunrise game drive.

You will return to the lodge for brunch and can spend the rest of the day relaxing at the pool, in the lounge area, or exploring within the confines of the lodge. Your afternoon game drive will commence at about 4:00pm and return to the lodge, where a starlit dinner in the boma awaits.

Arathusa Safari Lodge to Johannesburg

You wake up early again for a hot beverage and rusks before departing on your last morning game drive in the reserve.

After you have witnessed another African sunrise, you return to the lodge for breakfast before departing mid-morning on your return journey to Johannesburg.

You will arrive at your destination late afternoon, approximately 5:00pm.
