The West Coast National Park and Elands Bay
Collect your rental vehicle from Cape Town & travel north along the Atlantic Coast, passing tall white dunes & lagoons into the West Coast National Park & Langebaan. The park is well-known for its avian life, identified by BirdLife International, & spring flowers, particularly in the Postberg Nature Reserve. A flamingo population lives in the salt marshes, while African penguins, oystercatchers, & cape gannets breed here.
Next stop is the famous West Coast Fossil Park, known to fossil enthusiasts worldwide. The fossils include bones of over 200 different animal species, representing an incredible diversity of five million-year-old fossils!
Drive to Elands Bay, a spectacular village on the rugged West Coast, famous for its surf break & crayfish netting. Walk to Elands Bay Cave at the foot of Baboon Point. The magnificent rock art, particularly drawings of the eland, gave the area its name.
Your accommodation is on or close to the beach. You might even have fresh crayfish for dinner!

After leaving Elands Bay, you stop at Lamberts Bay, the seafood hot spot on the West Coast! Bird Island lies about 100m off the shore of Lamberts Bay on the West Coast. It offers visitors a rare opportunity to see the blue-eyed Cape gannet up close.
Lamberts Bay is known as the Diamond Coast and the crayfish mecca of South Africa. Alluvial diamonds are brought up from the ocean floor, thanks to the adventurous local divers.
You will see delightful views of dolphins, whales, and the ever-entertaining seals at the internationally acclaimed Bird Island, where tens of thousands of seabirds create a deafening cacophony! The lush stretches of wildflowers found here are most beautiful during spring.
In the afternoon, you travel to Vanryns Pass, which is mesmerizing with its steep gradient—the view is breathtaking! Finally, you will reach Nieuwoudtville, the bulb capital of the world. This town lies on the Bokkeveld escarpment.
Your accommodation is on a farm.

Bushmanland and Oorlogskloof Nature Reserve
Discover amazing landscapes: canyons, Nieuwoudtville, waterfalls, quiver tree forests, glacial pavements, and sandstone. You will visit a Nama village where Rooibos leaves are harvested traditionally and used to brew tea for many generations. This unique health-enhancing Rooibos plant is only found in this area. The Nama are one of the oldest indigenous groups in Namibia and South Africa. The ethnic group of Nama, or Namaqua, which literally means Nama people, is a subset of the broader South African ethnolinguistic group of Khoi Khoi—the only true descendants. If you like, and time permitting, you can hike in the secluded Oorlogskloof Nature Reserve.
Enjoy a delicious farm-cooked dinner under the African sky, where you will see the Southern Cross star constellation.
NB: We are happy to offer discounted rates on activities and adventures like helicopter flips, shark cage diving, hot air ballooning, a whale cruise, surfing lessons, seal snorkeling, paragliding, hiking, and many more.
