Explore the Mkata floodplain, home to elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and more. Mikumi is known for its open landscapes, making wildlife easy to spot and photograph. You might even catch a glimpse of the elusive leopard or wild dog, especially in the early morning or late afternoon! The park is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, boasting 400+ bird species including hornbills, fish eagles, lilac-breasted rollers, and flamingos near the seasonal waterholes. Overnight at Mikumi Cottages.

Day 2
Early morning game drive and sunrise then drive back to Dar es Salaam
Early morning game drive and sunrise then drive back to Dar es Salaam
You will start an early morning game drive at around 6 am to see big cats in action as they are nocturnal animals. You will also see big herds of buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, elephants, prides of lions and many birds. After a drive of 2 to 3 hours, you will head back to the cottages for breakfast before you start your journey back to Dar es Salaam with an en-route lunch.
