Day 2

After an early morning breakfast, you go for the whole day game drive experience, getting upclose to wildlife in Akagea National Park, you will exit the park at Nyungwe gate and drive back to Kigali. During the game drive to the north of the park, you will go through different topography but most interesting part of it is the Crocodile Swimming Pool & the valley with large concentration of wildlife as you get nearly to the Nyugwe exit gate to proceed to Kigali.

Pick up after your breakfast, You will visit the Kigali Genocide Museum to pay your last respect for victms of 1994 Rwandan Genocide before Leaving the lively capital, you drive north-west through lush hills and bustling market towns for approximately 2.5 hours, to the stunning Volcanoes National Park – well known as the venue for Dian Fossey's pioneering studies of the mountain gorillas.

This Optional Gorilla Tracking day requires a Gorilla Tracking permit at a fee of usd $1,500 or choose to go for an alternative Bisoke Volcano Hike. Early morning breakfast and head to meet at the park headquarters for gorilla tracking briefing, and then hike up into the rainforest to a troop of magnificent mountain gorillas. Each troop has its own 24-hour guard, so their location is known; you usually have an hour with them, time to sit and observe them at very close quarters indeed. After the day experience return to the lodge for refreshment and cup of coffee.

Start early on your first morning for a trip to track the golden monkeys. These primates are beautiful, endangered and more agile than the mountain gorillas. They live in bamboo thickets on the lower slopes of the mountains – and tracking them acclimatizes you perfectly to the slight altitude, marking your last views of the park's environs, and this will be followed by a transfer to Lake Kivu. You will enjoy the lakeside drive with great scenery.

After an early morning breakfast, prepared to go lowland Gorilla Tracking, cross the border at Ruzizi one to Democratic republic of Congo and proceed to Tshivanga Kahuzi-Biega National Park headquarters, kbnp is a World Heritage site. A vast area of primary tropical forest dominated by two spectacular extinct volcanoes, Kahuzi and Biega, the park has a diverse and abundant fauna. Some of the last groups of eastern lowland gorillas consisting of only some 7,000 individuals, live here at between 2100 and 2400 m above the sea-level. They have black coats, and the males develop silver backs as they mature. With the help of a ranger and trackers, we approach this rare primate. The walk can take several hours, but coming across the group in its particular habitat is an inspiring moment.
After the day experience with lowland Gorilla tracking transfer back to the lodge.

Early morning breakfast and transfer to Cyamudondo Forest, Nyungwe National Park a head of your Chimpanzee Trekking. Cyamudongo Forest is an isolated area annexed from the Nyungwe national park but it remains part of the park. In a company senior site ranger guide, you will follow him in the trailhead in search of the Chimpanzee and after you find them, you will be Permitted to stay with them for an hour. If time allows you will do a canopy walk instead afternoon and then transfer to Katabi eco camp for overnight.

Your guide driver will drop you at your hotel in Kigali. End.
